Which one do you think is relay 7? I'll have a look tomorrow.Does anyone know an RS or Farnell order code for a replacement relay 7 for the BeCM in a '97 P38 4.6 HSE?
Thanks
Hey smart new person! Do you know if this fault is can be associated with a RRC?? I've had several instances where my heater blower won't work and neither will my cig lighter. And my coolant level light flashes, as well.BeCM internal relay RL7 feeds the cigar lighter, radio memory, HEVAC display and blowers via fuses 7, 8. I have had several momentary failures, some so short that there are no fuse error messages, etc. but once I got fuse 7, 8 error messages. Both were fine. I'm told it may be a ageing relay 7 in the BeCM.
More likely to be corroded connectors or a bad earth IMO.BeCM internal relay RL7 feeds the cigar lighter, radio memory, HEVAC display and blowers via fuses 7, 8. Odd that both blowers, HEVAC and radio display and cigar lighter (I have a radar detector plugged to it) all go off simultaneously, and come back simultaneously moments later. Coincidence three times in a row perhaps? One of the blower relays (7) had failed and I replaced both (7 & 8). Checked fuses, checked fuse box for corrosion and burning. All engine, chassis and BeCM earth points were cleaned a month ago to solve the 'gearbox fault', also added extra positive from the alternator to the battery, new battery earth cables and new cable from the alternator to the starter.
Any further thoughts?
Thanks for the response. I got my hopes up on this one. The mechanics at the main stealer can't even put their finger on it.Sorry, no experience with a RRC. Dodgy electrics can throw up all sorts of issues. Some are easy, some have you chasing your tail.
Thanks Wammers. I'll check the fuse box again, and check BeCM connections over the weekend. I'll be delighted if it's not a BeCM relay issue.
In case you do need to replace it, relay 7 in the BECM is a Siemens V23076-A3001-D142.
You will need to have a solder sucker and a good soldering iron with a fine tip not to mention experience.
