The beep when I select reverse on the auto stopped working part of the way through today.

I had an easy day driving about 21 miles and only parking up 6 times before driving home. Engine run time would have been over 3 hours for that trip!!! (I expect my average mpg was in the low to mid 20's :D )

It also has affected the park sensors, as they are now not beeping which is a necessity parking in tiny gaps in South London.

The buzzer had been making a 'fuzzy' beep for a while until this afternoon.

Any idea's?

I'm hoping it is just the buzzer that has failed or has a loose connection and nothing more expensive.

I always thought if a sensor went down then it turned off the sensors. A work colleague of mine has to water his every now and again to make them work. Yes with a watering can.

My sensors stay on every now and again with a long beep when in reverse

I put it into my local garage today, as no time to play with it.

Sensors working fine.

They did put it on 4 different diagnostics machines and now of them reported an error.

The sensors all 'click' so they appear to be fine.

Consensus seems to be the buzzer!

I'll pick one up.

So question: where is it located, as it doesn't work, I can't tell which side it should be!

Will Hawkeye or the cheap alternative in another thread read faults with the sensors?

it is behind the dash I believe just hope it is not a on the board thing but if it is you should able to solder one in place. hope this helps

They are silent no more........

There is a proper beep when I engage reverse now, and I tested all the sensors and they are working great.

Back to being able to park in smaller gaps again without fear of hitting the vehicle behind.

Yippie :D

Old thread I know but I am having the same problem and I too park in some pretty tight spaces and with it being dark early as well...
Is it on the right hand side looking from the back of the vehicle?
How do you remove the trim panel? I have removed the four clips and the strip that holds the bottom bit to the boot sill but it still seems to be pretty well stuck.
Do the clips that hold the luggage cover need to come out? If so, how? They don't seem to want top budge either.
I don't want to force anything as the plastic seems quite brittle and I don't want to break it.

Thanks for any advice
