Hi all, I have an ex utility company 110 td5 with a hydraulic winch on the front bumper. Has anyone heard of running a log splitter of the hydraulic system on one of these? I have approx 16 tonnes of wood to split and not looking forward to doing it with an axe! Any input much appreciated.

I use a log splitter on a tractor at work. You will need to make sure that the splitter is secure as ours jumps around a lot on the 3 point linkage.

Don't see why your landy wouldn't power it if plumbed in right, had it on a 32hp garden tractor for a bit, slower than the 162hp it's normally on.

I can do about 1 ton per hour on my own so be prepared to have your landy running for quite a while.

Yes, you can run a log splitter off the hydraulic system of your 110 TD5. Just make sure the splitter’s hydraulic flow and pressure match what your system provides. Many have done this by tapping into the existing hydraulic lines or adding a separate pump. It’s a great way to handle large amounts of wood without using an axe.
