hi, been asked to give some more details on my fix, got fed up with having to use fob at back window as had blue aerial wire disconnected so fitted, if I can remember correctly a 2ch remote relay from fleebay same as this one but with two remotes, one each me and the wife
DC 12V Remote Control ON OFF Switch Power Wireless Relay Control all 12VOLT APPs | eBay
I wired this in at the receiver, cutting the orange wire and running that through the relay and taking the power supply from the live and ground feeding the receiver, you now have to press the new remote to lock-arm the relay then use your car fob as normal. on leaving car lock as normal then disarm the new relay
The becm should no longer wake up and you can still use you key fob from a distance (ok two key fobs from a distance ) hope that makes sense.
if you do this mod go for a 315mhz switch as it is then on a different frequency then the RF receiver.

Just type in 12v remote jog switch on ebay, I found the jog switch better as you cannot leave it switched on as ,if I remember correctly , Brian's missus did.

Yes that is correct, but it does mean no signals are ever getting through, and is very simple to do really.

Switch the RF receiver on with the new FOB, use normal FOB to lock/unlock switch off RF receiver and there can then be no drain.

No the new fob activates the rf receiver so then you can use the original fob to lock/unlock. If you get a "jog" remote switch then you cannot leave the rf receiver "live" press once to activate, deactivated when button released.
