on Saturday, used an entire spray can of engine cleaner to degrease the underside of engine and IRD, hoping to find from where all the oil is coming from just to discover it's also loosing power steering fluid

very heavy duty Redneck stands :D

Replaced both front windows on my 3 door this morning as they had been scratched to bu**ery by the dog.........Looks as though the back quarters are gonna need doing as well. Ah well, off to the breakers again. Just hope they have some that are a dark tint.
Anyone got a dog guard they don't need............or want a dog!

Removed the 16" alloy wheels shod with 215/60 R16 winter tyres, put some copper slip grease on my front brakes to hopefully stop a slight squeal as I slow down and then fitted my 17" Evolution wheels shod with General Grabber UHP 225/55 R17 tyres.

Checked tyre pressures.

Sprayed the mesh grill on the lower part of the front bumper as it was looking a bit tatty, fitted new bee sting aerial, touched up a few scratches and cleaned my 18/245/45 wheels and tyres

Looked at it, considered making a custom decat from the original mid section, talked about it, decided to give it a go sometime when I get time!

Stripped out the facia to swap the heater matrix.

Found an ADR5 tracking device hidden behind the dash. Had the Hippo 8 years and never knew a thing about it!

My first off-road experience in the FL…

I was a little anxious as I first turned off the road, but the trusty (ahem) FL held its own on the 2 degree gradient of my driveway, vicious slope that one.

I then had to contend with passing between two large trees (in reverse I might add), well, they were two large trees once, but have now been excellently fashioned into a pair of gates and two gate posts..

It was at this point that I spotted the incredibly wild and pretty nasty buddleia, which has now grown out of control next to the gate.. fortunately, thanks to the remarkable features, as standard, on my HSE, I was able to hit the button for the power fold mirrors , thank god the electrics held out, and the right hand mirror managed to fold just in time to avoid a woody, leafy end.

Next came the very unpredictable pebbles, some of them being incredibly sharp, but she bounced over them with ease (as big as your fingernails some of them, I assure you).

It was then that I spotted the half inch deep puddle in the mirror, (fortunately the electrics had held out again and the mirror was now back in its out position) it must have been at least ten cm wide!!! The FL powered through it, sending a splash that almost reached the tyre tread…

After a brief stop at this point to re-attach the doors, (common fault when in contact with water apparently) I managed to back the FL to its final resting place for the morning, and luckily, thanks to those rear parking sensors, and the placement of the bin, I avoided a final disaster, an inch deep and half inch wide crack in the driveway…. (really must repair that)…

So, all in all, an exciting and thrilling first off-road adventure….

I am off for a calming cup of tea, and a lay down after all that !!!!

Jolly good show old chap. Shows those Tratter boys some serious off roading abilities.

Not today, but Saturday, fitted new brake light switch after wedging myself upside down in the foot well

I then sorted out my nearside bumper mounted spot light that has always been slightly wonky :D
