So as some of you will know last year I rebuilt my 90. After the amount of blood, Sweat and tears that went in to it. I was gutted to sell it. But at the time it seemed the best thing to do.

Since selling it, Its been constantly going through my mind that I want to build another. But being rather busy at work made me think twice. This was probably a good thing as it has allowed me to save a few quid and now I can probably build some thing bigger and betterer than last time :D

So last Sunday I picked this up :)
Genuine 200tdi, Which is what I wanted as apposed to a disco converted one. Nothing against them. I would just rather have the correct set up.

I ended up spending more than I wanted to but there's a few bits I can sell and I wont be far of what I wanted to spend in the first place. With what I would say is a better base to start with.

This is probably going to be a very slow build to start with. Due to the amount of work on at the mo. But hopefully when this jobs finished I'll go back to my standard 40 hours and have plenty of time to work on it.

So the plan is to go down the galvanized chassis route. Who from? Well I don't know yet. But it will probably be Richards seen as they're only down the road from me.

To be honest the chassis isn't that bad. But I want to build some thing that is going to last a long time. Instead of chasing my tail every year so to speak.

Also got a td5 bulkhead that I plan on getting shot blasted and galvanized. Again I haven't got a clue where to get this done or were to start. But I'll deal with that when the time comes.

Any way a few more pics. As I know yer all love piccys :D

See post 4 :) But in short a galvanized chassis and bulkhead, Plus what ever other nasty's I uncover.

Cheers :)

fantastic. i have the same plan for mine (eventually, currently lacking time, space, brownie point, and cash) i'm looking forward to seeing this one :) good luck!

Well the interior is a bit tatty. But will clean up ok I think.
The horrid chequer plate thing will be removed. Luckily they haven't cut the dash to fit it so it's just a case of fitting a standard radio housing.

Again the seats are tatty, But by god they are bloody comfy. Not sure what to do with these yet. As I cant get to the battery. But probably just fit standard defender seats.

Yep, That's my thought on the chassis ;)

I'm hoping the rock sliders will come out of the outrigger tubes. I'll not be happy if not

As I say I recon this build is going to take me a very long time. I wish I could crack on, I just haven't got the time :(

Oh and the wheels may be for sale later in the build ;) . Would like a set of mach 5's if money allows :)

I would definitely be interested in those wheels matey :)

Really looking forward to this rebuild mate, the last one was immense and looked even better in person!

Cheers mate:) I'm looking forward to it anorl, Just need some time to get stuck in to it. So I know what I've got to play with.

So not a lot done today as I thought. Ended up fitting a brake servo to my brothers 90. Plus a few other jobs.

Any way what did I get done on mine. Well not a bloody lot.

Removed bonnet. Nice easy job to start the day :D

Removed the doors. Much easier than I thought. All the hinge to bulkhead bolts came undone without even putting up a fight.
Had to drill 'em out on the last 3 I've done

floor pans and trans tunnel. Again came out pretty easy. Without even having to grind one bolt of :) (Allways time for a first)
Was going to clean a few of these bits up and get a few pics as they're going to be for sale. But never got chance.

Winch bumper and winch were removed. Not sure if I want to keep it  I don't think the winch will get used, So seems a waste to keep. But I like the look of the bumper.

Got a pic of the engine bay. Very clean for what it is :)

Great to see the beginnings of another build. The Ninety looks good even before you've started so I'm really looking forward to seeing it go through the works.

If you have enough free time to post on here you have enough time to go do something lol :)

I kind of agree, But the neighbours don't like me as it is, So I'm not sure they'd take to kindly to me banging about in the garage late at night.

Looking forward to this thread if its anything going by your last rebuild :)

Yep, Hopefully this will be much betterer :D

Yeah it's pretty tidy to be honest. As I said in an earlier post I paid more than I wanted to. But I think I've got a better base vehicle to start with. Time will tell though. As the more you strip them the more you end up finding :(
