Hi, driver side headlight has stopped working, main beam only, full beam is fine, have checked fuse/tried another bulb but nothing....all other lights work fine.....stumpted:confused::confused::confused:

Any help much appreciated......

Have you metered the line going to the dip beam element with the lights on and switched to dipped beam ?

Pull the connector off and meter the the connector in the plug.

I suspect you will not get 12v and hence have a break in the wire somewhere.

Hi, i dont have a meter but i cant see it being anything else but a break somewhere, there are 2 wires into the bulb holder...black/orange...i take it one is for the high beam/other for main??

Prob right....away from the car just now.....would the easiest/simplest solution be to run a wire from the passenger side main beam neatly to the drivers side:confused:

Main beam as in dipped beam?

That would work however if the fuse blew you would loose both lamps which could be a bit tricky if it was at night on a twisty road....

Ah...never thought of that;) Wont be doing that then....i have the proper aux/driving lights hooked up & can remember taking a feed from the main/dipped beam lights but they work fine, will have a good check around 2moro....sure the Relay is responsible for both headlights so wont be that....why do things never happen in the summer:D:D

In that case you can assume that the fault lies after the connection that you made to your aux/driving lights.

lol, yes agree regarding the summer:rolleyes:

Well glad to say all fixed :D....now, i'm not going to say what was wrong exactly, all i will say is NEVER try to investigate/fix a fault whilst in a rush in the dark with a piddly little torch :eek::eek:

Lesson learnt :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ok...ok..in my haste last night i took out the FULL BEAM BULB & replaced it instead of the faulty MAIN/DIPPED BEAM BULB....couldnt understand why it still wouldnt work so tried another bulb, still no joy so checked the fuses etc...

Wasnt till this morning when i went to look at it again that i realised my mistake & boy did i feel a right **cking idiot :rolleyes::rolleyes::mad:
