1989 90 Rebuild

This is a thread about the rebuild of my 1989 90 200tdi which I started in the summer but have only thought about a rebuild thread. I will be posting pictures of the work I have already done up until this point and then I will continue to update as I progress.

Main damage was to the seatbox and passenger door

Back axle came off

Started to wire brush and rustproof

Various holes in the rear crossmember so decided to put on a new one with extentions

Stripping and cleaning rear axle

All painted up

New crossmember painted

Checking the halfshaft spline wear

New springs, shocks, brake shoes, drums and drive flanges

Wheels on

Unfortunately, the welding isn't mine. Wish it was. I just haven't got a good enough welder for those sorts of jobs. Had a mobile welder come and do it
