Brakes sticking

I have an 04 Freelander 1. This week I have been parking the car on the drive which is an uphill slope. The brakes have been sticking on when trying to drive off.

I have done a search but can't find anything conclusive. Is there anything I should be worried about?

parking forwards or rearwards?

rusting on handbrake.
try parking it in gear without handbrake and see if thats better.

It's quite a steep drive so I always leave it parked in 1st gear.

How about the rear brake shoes starting to come off the lining and jamming between the drums. might be worth taking them off to have a check.

I think the wet wether is a big factor.

yup.

its a common problem. particularly parked on a hill, it becomes more noticeable.

Mine have been doing it a lot after going through floods everywhere. I don't worry though.

Mine do this at times, esp after laning and in the wet, I find a strip down, clean and lube helps, brakes that is.

I usually just jump in the shower, but I'll give it a go!
