I have just bought a 2002 P38 Vogue in Blue.
I looked in James Taylor's book and it says Vogues were only built in Oxford blue in 2002 so assumed mine was a Oxford Blue example.

I then checked the paint code before ordering a touch up stick and it was 644 Oslo blue.

Back to James Taylor's book and I noticed it says 2002 Vogue SE's were Oslo. It then lists the spec of the SE which mine matches except for a few things (a special Vogue SE badge which I do not know what it looks like) - mine is a green inlaid Vogue badge. Also mine has no blue highlights in the wood and has a walnut wheel rather than grey mentioned. No centre speaker either.

Anyone any ideas? I am waiting for v5 to come through so not sure what it was registered as.

My '02 Vogue SE has the same badge as yours which isn't the correct Vogue SE badge. This should be a green plaque with the letters finished in gold. I've been trying to get one of these for the past year but no joy. The '02 Vogue SE should also have the extra HK speaker housing on the dashboard & chrome finish to door latches / handbrake & gear selector buttons etc.

Interesting your badge is the same ... I did find a dodgy shot on google showing SE as you mention so guessing it's not an SE.
As mentioned I don't have the centre speaker but do have the chrome highlights to doors and gear selector etc.
It's the colour that is strange ... I think James Taylor's book must be wrong and you could order a normal Vogue in Oslo.

Yep, thats the correct badge but when i spoke to them to check availability they told me the leadtime was indefinate though.
You may well have an SE model. LR do some pretty unusual spec changes depending on what is available at the time. The upgraded speaker system on the SE is also used on the Westminster model - i would guess they didnt sell as many Westminsters as planned so used up stock on the Vogue SE's.

I guess parts were starting to run out by 2002. I read they had to take off the dimming wing mirrors and no doubt other things were affected.
I will keep researching ... This sort of stuff fascinates me ... Not sure why!

Too right with parts running out. Mine was fitted with a 2 pin rear diff as they had probably run out of 4 pins. No surprise mine failed earlier this year.
I suspect with the introduction of the L322 at the same time they were speccing up P38's to shift.

That's a pain. Wonder if mine is a two pin too ... How do you tell?
I only picked mine up yesterday so still exploring.

Mine is a 2002 SE finished in green. I have the SE badge, centre dash mounted speaker and chrome surrounds and the wood inlays are green and not walnut (not as bad as it sounds). I also have the mirrors that dim at night.

Does that mean I have the full set:D

Sounds lovely ... The mirrors are not supposed to be there (according to Taylors book anyway) so sounds like you did do well!
Have you got pics of the wood and centre speaker?
