How deep of wading can I do without plugs in? I've been upto bonnet once but don't want to damage engine thanks

Id say thats too deep as well to be honest. :)

You really do need to be careful. A little bit of water will contaminate fluids at the very least. :(
 
Its a landrover not a submarine ! They will wade but serious consequences can result , upto and including loss of life !
These wading questions as soon as theres a bit of flooding are almost as bad as "how big a tyre can I fit"
 
even with a properly fitted snorkel i wouldn't go much more than 2 ft deep. any more and it just seems to mess them up.
 
I have a snorkel and axle breathers on mine and I try to stay out of the water as much as possible. When I first got it I tried it out several times crossing rivers etc. But not only do you have to keep a close watchful eye on your oil's other things get messed up. My Rear brake wheel cylinders had to be replaced. They were probably due to be replaced but going through water accelerated the need. You will find if anything is a bit iffy going through water will bring out the potential problem.
