Just to complete this musical thread, the whistle was indeed the rear UJ on the front do dah. £48 for the part including the fitting. Happy with that.

There is a grease nipple on each one, you have to rotate the props to get at them and you need a grease gun with a narrow nozzle

Aha, got it. I have a grease gun. That will make it simpler.
