ive been a member of landyzone for a good while along with a lot of others, this isnt just a forum about landrovers its a social club where we all chat every evening and take the **** out of each other. there seems to be a spate of complaints going around at the minute about the langiuage on here. this has never offended any of the regulars but we seem to be getting more and more tossers that are offended by foul language. it makes you laugh even more when you look at the moderators signature and it says "tits" oohh thats a swear word. ffs roy/accy lz has always been pretty much self moderating, you even said that accy. if some dick head comes on asking a stupid question we get rid of him. if some prick comes on trying to peddle his shoddy wares, we get rid of him. i know i am one of the so called culprits along with a lot of the other regulars, but if landyzone starts going into a nanny state like a lot of other forums then it will be very quiet in here. sheddy for one is making a stand and i will be joining him if this is the way we are heading, come on roy/accy, get this thing sorted out, if some spineless **** pm's you reporting the bigger boys for swearing then put it in a thread, i agree, sometimes we go a bit far, but it all calms down pretty soon after, anyway, it would be nice to hear our administration teams views on this.

hhmmm quite ammusing.. any chance of a clue as to where it might say don't come on and take the **** out of each other or enjoy yourselves???? i made a post about being a little more carefull about using some of the harsh language as apposed the usual **** **** crap and any other bull**** you might want to talk about. Personaly i have absolutely no objections to any language that people wish to use being that i talk more crap than anyone. I had a load of complaints by mail about the language so i thought i'd ask people to just think on. Bare in mind that i do it in my time i don't get paid for it, i work full time travelling all over the world looking for time to get on here because Land Rovers are my hobby.. also bearing in mind that it actually costs money to keep this website and not vice versa. obviously at this time i'm wishing i hadn't fecking bothered!!! good old story of trying to keep everyone happy and getting kicked in the nuts for it.. I sent a couple of PM (PRIVATE message) polite ones too i like to think but that was obviously wasted too as its now all over the message board ( had i wanted that i would have put it there myself!!) All i can really say is make your own mind up chaps, i have pm's from people complaining about the language then the same people slagging me off on the forums for voicing their words.. a little 2 faced i think but only my oppinion. Landyzone aint changing.. same rules as always if anybody ever read them.. all i have politely asked is leave out the really bad stuff.

Hi Guys and Gals

I hear what accy has to say and the other moderators, but this is an adult forum with people of the age to drive a vehicle, that should make them old enough to understand the light hearted whit that the long term members pass over to each other.

Now I aint been here long but to be honest its the freindly atmosphere and funny comments that got me to sign up in the first place, so what they swear a little now and then, and so does nearly ever person above the age of 12 nowadays.

You can't tell me that people don't sit and read the post before they hit the join button, so those new members know what the language is like before they join so why come on and PM the Admins with complaints of the bad language?

It seems rather pathetic that long term members have to be subjected to this kind of behaviour because some prude doesn't like certain swear words,
in my opinion your not going to do the forums any good by having a go at your regulars, like i said earlier i joined this forum cos i think the long term mebers are HUMAN and like to have a laugh.(thats my kind of people)

Accy don't take things personal, i have been running multiple web sites for years and moderating forums for the same amount of time, look after those that look after you, in the end you will have a solid respectable forum without the moaners because believe me those that don't like swearing will pass us by as quick as the clicked the join button.

I love the natural chilled atmosphere here and sit and read the freds evernight the swearing makes things light hearted and fun to read, keep it up all.

I think this site is a breath of fresh air, it makes a change for people to actually say how they feel. The language doesn't bother me. I swear just as much as any of you! I just don't always type it.

Don't change the way you are and if people don't like it when they join they can always bugger off to where they came from. There are plenty of PC websites out there let em go join one of them.
You lot make me laugh and I'm glad I joined up

if i read this (carefully edited) post by Accy, correctly - He aint gonna ban anyone - things will carry on as normal - just think before you post such awful words as quoted above! and then carry on as usual. I believe that if anyone gets banned, the backlash would be immense.

Accy did mention an "Adult section" as mentioned previously, if peeps dont look at the posts before signing up - they are stupid - it should be a part of signing up that you accept that this is an "Adult" site.

nice one accy, im glad you took the time ter reply.we(the regulars) know how this forum works, we also know that it is done fer nowt by you and roy, we also know, if you read my original thread that you have always said it dont take much moderating. yes i am guilty of posting that you have bollocked me (in a nice way) before now about my language. but my point was just to highlight the fact that we get new members join and then complain about the content of the site. i and a lot of others appreciate what you and roy do on here, and yes, my jibe about your signature was just that(not a complaint) . like i said, every now and then the swearing becomes a bit crass but it soon calm,a down and goes back to the **** taking. i think a lot of the problem is that new members dont expect to come on here and have the **** ripped out of them, but tuff ****, thats how it is. if they dont like it then why do they join, there are plenty of other forums where no one takes the ****, try landy addict for one, at least three of the members from here( me included) got banned from there for **** taking on our first day. yes we all want to promote lz but only to the sort of people that will appreciate the nature of the site, lets face it, roy and accy dont ant the haasle of moanig ****ers every ten minutes. keep up the good work accy, and dont let the bastards grind you down
