As some already know I ended up giving mine away in Estonia because I didn't have the right paperwork to enter Russia, to be honest they did me a favour as it would have been a millstone round my neck in places like Kazakhstan and Mongolia, although I was driving a 110 which obviously made a huge difference as already mentioned.

Ar, this has been brought back to the top.

Thanks to Bevhelee I got 'some paperwork' for the sankey and have passed 15 International borders with it.

No problems on crap roads, it has proven itself beyond all expectations. We have taken remote tracks in Kyrgyzstan, crossed the Southern Gobi offroad following old soviet maps through dry river beds and currently in Irkutsk (Siberia) preparing to drive the BAM and later the OSR 'road of bones'.

I have absolutely no regrets about bringing it along :)

We would have been screwed without it.

We got through Bosnia and Serbia ok. Turkey I think we had to show it, Georgia was fine. Russia was the big one as we had to do 2 customs declarations.

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan didn't care much and on our 2nd entry to Kazakhstan I insisted I needed the customs declaration from them for the trailer or I would be in trouble leaving Russia (They are part of a joint customs union). He wasn't having any of it. told me it would be fine and to leave  ####.

Anyway, When we entered mongolia it was fine, the russians said nothing, phew!

Re-entered Russia for the last time yesterday and they were so hot on it they started to question the number plates (being the same as its the only place in the world who do it) and look more closely at my paperwork. A few phonecalls later and we were on our way.

It would have been a different story for sure had we not done something about it before leaving, so thanks again Bevhelee.

Save that paperwork I might be after it in a year or so if I get a sankey ;)

Cheers Griffdowg, good to know that it's a viable option instead of selling my beloved 90 for a 110 :)

A quick paperwork update.

RAC require the trailer to be on a separate Carnet so it will cost you extra for the paperwork. I put the cost down at 200GBP.

Trailer is now in Australia with my 90. Its a bit broken but we will start to fix it in the coming months as I work to earn $$$. Will get pics sorted at some point.
