Interior titivation - headlining

So,

I decided to rejuvenate my headlining.

Purchase list:

Aluminium Thermal Foil (B&Q) £12
Veltrim lining (eBay) £59.99

Relatively simple job, just a little time consuming - and it's a good idea to have plenty of space (I didn't!!).

The Veltrim I bought came with 5 cans of high temp glue. I managed to use about 4 1/2 cans on the whole job which included lining the roof with the foil too.

I also decided to wrap the two bits of trim that are at either side of the screen which I think ties it all in.

Next is going to be the upper part of the dash, again in the same stuff I think.

I'll put interior pics up tomorrow as I ran out of light.

Does the foil lining make any difference that youve noticed yet? I quite like the look of that. Seems like quite a big roll too, is it adhesive backed and was that enough to do your full interior?

Annoyingly (sort of) yesterday was the warmest day of the winter so far at about 12c, so it is really difficult to know if that was affecting things BUT:

It really did seem to warm up quickly in there, and the soundproofing effect was great too - this will be in part due to the carpet headlining being relatively thick.

I still have about a quarter of a roll left after doing the full roof of my 90, so if it actually works, £12 is a bloody bargain!!

I used the high temp spray glue to fix this as there is no adhesive on the roll. The critical part is that the glue must be high temp otherwise it will fall off in the summer as the roof heats up.

I have purchased dome dark grey vinyl & leather dye for the visors. Looks a bit too two tone for me at the mo!

Did mine in black speaker cloth from ebay. £20 for 5 meters x 1.6 meters. I used spray glue up to 120 degrees after the first attempt with normal spray glue sagged in sunshine. With left overs I did the metal on the b pillars as well and seat boxes.

Looks good! I might do this, anything I can do to get maximum sound proofing besides foil? I have The front headlining for a 90 and the rear for a 110 in the for sale section

I've come to the conclusion it's a Land Rover with chunky tyres so it's going to be noisy. I tried insulating between the headlining and roof but I found no difference at all.

Ah, fair enough.. I love the noisy engine but with the roof rack on it's all you can hear when you go above 50 and it's a really annoying droning sound.

Ah well, I think I will treat myself to a radio and some speakers for the 90 to try and drown out the sound instead

I am without roof rack but I have new speakers so at least I can hear the tunes.
