How hard is it  Dont tell me to do a search either, this question is only for those who understand that some of us have limited mechanical ability :p

So what tools would I need and does it need physical strength.

Wondering whether this is something I can do myself or whether to book it in and let the experts do it

no physical strength needed. It depends on what type of snorkel ya wanna fit and to what vehicle.

Snorkels on the whole are pretty easy to fit. A drill is probably the most extravagant bit of kit required followed by a sealer gun for waterproofing any joints.

A lot depends on the snorkel ..

Some require an amount of dismantling of the vehicle, some need precision(ish) drilling and grinding, some just bolt on.

Assuming you want a snorkel so it's not as scary driving through water, fords etc, then it's worth bearing in mind that when you fit a snorkel, it's as well to also fit extended breathers to the axles, gearboxes etc.

Why not get the bits and arrange for a laning/fettling day in your area .. there's bound to be some lanes that people can do whilst also fixing the bits on! .. well .. not at the same time, maybe after the fettling .. ;)

The extra work will stand you in good stead!

.. and we knew about the Jate rings .. just thought we'd help out, but really didn't mean to butt in quite so much that we took it over!

Surprised they're still on ...

;)

Yes they are still on :D I was very glad you took over, when I bought them on the way down I didn't know fitting them required a large hammer :D:D:D Its why I was asking about the snorkel

LOL, snorkels don't normally require large hammers to fit .. but they are useful if summat doesn't quite line up .. :)
