Hi all, my run of bad luck continues....fitted a new Cat Exhaust today to my 1.8 S....still had the original fitted so all the bolts & everything was solid/rusted....had to take the exhaust off with the Lambda fitted (not fitted to the manifold but just after the Cat before it attaches to the middle exhaust section)......no matter what i tried it wouldnt budge so i ended up breaking it:mad:

Have had a look on Ebay & there are loads of different kinds, does anybody know the best way to find/order the correct one....some seem to be for the front & some for the rear....so i assume i need the rear?

Seem VERY expensive also......ho hum:confused:

i have used cheap ebay ones before and never had a problem

the only thing with them is you have to join the 4 wires to the old connector altho not a hard job

Hi Matt,
Dont suppose you have a link? I may go into my local Motor Factors 2moro with the damaged one & see what they come up with.....

Cheers

Hi, just looked again on eBay.....there are '4 wire' Lambda Sensors, which range in price from around £16 up to £30.....a lot better price to pay:D

Just a thought...is it safe for the engine etc to drive around for a day or so WITHOUT having the Lambda Sensor fitted?????

As i broke the original i have 'capped' off the threaded opening until i pick up the new one....

Cheers;)

i wouldnt drive it but thats my choice sensors are all about the emissions and the amount of air fuel the engine is getting

i dnt see for a day or so the harm BUT i have known faulty Sensors can lead to Cat failure but it was knackered for a while and the guy just couldnt be bothered but when his new cat was priced i saw him shed a little tear lol
