Fecking fecking fecking Land Rovers. Started replacing the intermediate pipe on my exhaust today. First of all, the U bolts securing the exhaust were so corroded they sheared whilst undoing. Then the bloody exhaust wouldn't come apart with out using so much force that I fractured a weld on the new downpipe (another quality Britpart item ) Then when removing the downpipe for welding, I sheared 2 of the studs holding the downpipe to the RHS manifold, and the bloody things sheared flush with the manifold, so I have had to drill and re-tap the holes. Hopefully I will have finished the damn thing by this evening.

Had a minor drip drip drip of diesel from the fuel pressure regulator since I got the Disco 2, I bought a new one along with the gasket and the filter O ring a couple of weeks ago. Today I decided to fit it. What was a bit confusing was the FPR had clearly been replaced before as it was of the newer type to the 10P engine I have.

After removing it (and lots of swearing and trying to contort fat fingers) I found out why it was leaking.. there was no gasket fitted at all. I installed the new one with the gasket with lots more swearing and all is now well.

Also gave the whole area below the FPR a good clean with Gunk and a rag as it was all black and gritty with old diesel.

Next job will be solving the exhaust gas leak from the downpipe with a new de-cat pipe, when it arrives.

Drove to and from work.jacked me old mans gaylander 2 up and was surprised by the articulation it has. And frustrated at the strange jacking points...
