How to I get into my 1996 P38 if vehicle battery is flat?

I have a 1996 P38 2.5 DSE.

I've not driven it for a few weeks and I now think the battery is flat. I can't open the vehicle with the key fob (that had new batteries a couple of months ago and the red light illuminates every time a button is pressed, so it's OK) and I'm scared to try and open with the key in case the alarm goes off and I can't stop it.

The tax expires next week and I want to SORN it (on land about 10 miles away) and want to drive it there.

Can anyone please offer me any advice?

grow a ####in spine and use the ####in key either that or start smashin the windows

I think you can jack it up and put a live to the starter and find a good ground.
This will/should allow you to get some charge back in... I remember reading a post like this recently. Do you have the EKA code?

Open door with key, POP bonnet, close door, lock with key, attach jump leads, open with button on fob, shouldn't need eka

Excuse my stupidity, but won't any residual juice in the vehicle battery make the alarm go off?

I just presume people have more than 1 jack like me
EKA code is your emergency access code to disable alarm/ start ya motor. A number you enter in drivers door IE; 2413---- 2 left 4 right and so on,look in your handbook,if you have 1 or is that in ya boot lol.every p38 RR owner should have a EKA code,it's the law of sod....
Should mention your EKA code is usually on a card if you ain't got 1 and you need it,trip to the dealer!
Manual just tells you how to enter it...

yes! have a read of your manual
but as already said you might not need it, if keyfob is ok. dont leave ya key in car when you get in and pop bonnet to charge battery as i did this and it locked the doors lol i do have a spare though...eka code is just handy to have just incase!

Super stress point, if you do anything with battery, unless keys in ya hand it's in ya pocket, until ya ready to start it, I unlocked mine as I said many times and didn't need eka code

I did read my owners handbook, but it didn't make a specific mention of how to get into the vehicle if the battery was flat.

I'll call out the AA to jump start me and do the "grand opening" in their presence

The alarm will only sound for a couple of minutes anyway. I've opened my vehicle with a key and I believe the alarm sounded for about 30 seconds before just flashing lights and nothing else. Stop being a Southern Sissy and pop the slag open. It isn't as though you're stealing the thing and scared of detection, right?

Not got a battery charger, but will get the AA to jump start me and then take the car for a drive.
