stripped the head off the old 90, HGF  the rear of no.4 pot apparantly common fault on 200tdi . did'nt help that the n/s back head bolt was no where near as tight as the rest of the head bolts
re-ground all the valves and cleaned the head and block surfices ready for refitting tomorrow .

Took the dash console out ready of wiring in switches and stuffs :D

Only to find spaghetti junction in there. Who ever wired the stereo and 12 volt sockets in my Fender was a complete ass. Both the 12 volt sockets running off 1 10 amp fuse with rubbish wires, no wonder the fuse kept blowing! As for the stereo 4 speaker output wired to 2 speakers  Not only that but front left was wired to front right speaker along with the wire for rear left WFT? Cut all the gash wiring out ready to be replaced with 25 amp wire and proper fuses. Pics later back to work as its dry :D

i seccond this, that is a definate week point, but looks brilliant!

thanks hopefully a weak point no more...

now you two have got me thinking about adding another flat section across that to seat the high lift jack and secure it on the top bar using a welded bolt....:scratching_chin:

Yep that's thew one. Hilift mount sounds good BUt simpler method would be an arm welded to centre of spare wheel mount get Ratty to post a pic of his hilift mount.

not a lot....

but met up with Diesel Do and chewed the fat. Nice motor he has. Interesting watching the neg camber on the rear wheels. wonder how long the tyres last.

Has some interesting ideas and projects - will keep an eye on his posts.

I am sure he wont mind me mentioning that he knows his stuff with doozils and the tweaking thereof. Will get him to do my 300 next time he is down :).

put the heads back on the light weight today ill run it up tomorrow and if its the block thats knackered the 3.9 is coming out and it will be time to go diesel...

Changed the other rear hub nut. Simple. One of the wheel bolts was loose though, threads not good. Quick weld needed as need it on the road tonight!

New wheel bearings front O/S, would have put in new steering damper on Sumo Bars, and new brake fluid after fitting new lines and a new valve, but the rain beat me.

done both front wheel bearings then tomorrow im going to start the huge task of cutting out all the rot ready for welding. had a quick peak behind the plastic on my sills and it looks like they are shot as well. so its half the rear drivers side foot well full front drivers foot well plus i have to hammer down the volcano and weld a patch over were a log went through the floor so looks like ive got a bizzy week lol.

Drove back down tae Catterick, and decided i need a 110 csw , the wee 90 is fun but i really need 4 doors!

had fun overtaking complete tits sat in the middle lane doing 50 as it was raining in their overpriced chelsea tractors!

Not just today, but done over a couple of weeks when the opportunities arise.

Day after collecting it.

Last couple of days.
Roof Rack, Snorkel, snow cowl, steering guard (after much swearing, bloody knuckles and some serious release agents.) and the top spot lights. And a dog, from somewhere :D

And yes I am aware the sidelight was gone, at least I was after this picture.

Taking the wheels off one by one to try and find the culprit of squeaky brake at the moment. New pads not wearing in right.

Cleaned out the LHS heated screen connector and plugged in both sides - now working.

Cleaned the oil out of the Red connector to the ECU (Standard D2 stuff!)

Topped up the coolant - doh! I still have a leak - probably the head gasket - one for sprint time I think!

used the sunshine as an excuse to get under me disco and top up the gear boxes.
main box was more or less full, the transfer box took nearly 2 litres !
had a quick look round underneath & made a mental note so when its sunny again,
to grease up me nipples on me props, and pump some more grease into front offside swivel...
oh, and check oil level in tother one.
not forgetting both diffs (nearly did)

best order up some more EP90 :)
