RF Receiver - how much taking the p*ss

My Battery kept going flat, I used to park it unknowingly near a DIY weather station, wireless septic tank transmitter and of course every joe has wifi in my village.
i disconnected the ariel from the RF, got the car re synced and moved it too the front of the house. perfect for about two weeks, went out today after 48hrs of non use and the batts chuffin flat again.:mad2:

Will have to bite the bullit and shell the cash for a new RF.

This close to christmas could have done without!!! arghhhh!

Have you Considered it might just be a duff battery now due to cold weather and being run flat so many times battery's don't like Either!!

Right gents from memory and looking for confirmation there are three types of these the early ones were the problem and had 2 circular chips inside diagonally one with a blue top the 2nd gen ones just have a silver rectangle inside and I think they are ok not sure and the 3rd gen has a small circular chip plus a long black rectangular one and these are the best does this sound about right

Western France not bad, lots of snow in the East and the mountains

It is the blue wire on the RF receiver. You have not disconnected the AM/FM aerial from the AM/FM amplifier by any chance have you. Won't do a lot for stray RF signals i'm afraid.

Think the lad has removed the coax from the AM/FM signal amplifier which is just behind the RF receiver on right side of car. For those who may not know the RF receiver is the small box immediately next to the seat release button. The aerial to that is a single blue wire. Do not remove the other plug. The AM/FM amplifier is further back and is a lot larger. Some vehicles have two amplifiers, AM/FM on right side of car and a further FM only amplifier on the left side of the car.

When I first found flat battery, thats what i thought. Only had the car two days at that point. Thats when I fitted my Gen new landrover 110amp YDG100860 battery plus new uprated alternator. The battery went flat again after about 3 days of not being started. So thats why I think its my RF reciever. I then charged up but needed Indy to re sync. (bought syncmate)

Charged my battery up last night, to be greeted with 'key code lockout' this morning. Did the key to the left, lock button, key to right, button thing then put key in ignition to position 2. 'engine dissabled' enter keycode' came next. i dont have the key code for mine so i entered the generic 1515 code. key too position 2 'alarm activated' was next followed by beep and she started. key fob works again, car starts no probs. Will leave car connected to trickle charger from now on till new RF reciever gets here.

Are you disconnecting the battery correctly? Slacken negative lead, but do not remove. Switch ignition on then off. Then disconnect negative lead within 17 seconds. To connect back up always connect positive lead first negative second. Make sure keys are not in ignition or if they are a door is open. If you connect battery with keys in ignition and doors shut they will automatically lock. Locking keys in car.

haven't heard or read that one before so i'll definately bear it in mind. i used the 'slave' battery method of jump leads to another spare batt, wipped my old out and new in.
