does anyone know if i fitted a 47kg lpg bottle on its side inside a discovery off roader if it would use the whole bottle of gas, thought this might be a good idea cos the cars not used on the road, so i can not fill a lpg tank

Yeah I think calor bottles are actually quite expensive for the amount of gas you get? Not sure?

Plus very heavy for the capacity?

Could use two 19kgs upside down, but like Ben says, use petrol!

My v8 uses bugger all fuel on a pay n play day compared to what it costs to get the damn thing there on the road!!!

We use an LPG bottle on the fork lift truck at work and that sits on its side and it is definatly empty when I swap it over for a new one, also the lpg tanks on my disco are on there side under the sills and I empty those rugular lol.

but just as a side note, it would probably be safer to just use petrol, if you roll the disco and the gas bottle is not strapped down properly you would rip the gas connection to the pipe and you would leak masses of gas into the cab, either being killed by a gas explosion or just choking on the gas itself.

In short it's not a great idea.

Hi yea that would be right as they have a pick up pipe which sit just off the bottom (side), but just a normal bottle doesn't have it.
