Good day to all!

I have a 2000 Discovery Td5 sitting in the garage for almost a year now and I cant find any solutions to it.

Problem:

1 .Engine wont turnover to start.

2. It just keeps on cranking and cranking.

Observations:

1. Fuel Pump is working and fuel feed lines are full of diesel.

2. Immobilzer is OFF

3. Tank is full of diesel

What I have done:

1. Cleaned the ECU ports and plugs (it was covered with grime and oil)

2. Read ECU and No Faullt codes.

Is there anything I can do to start the engine directly without going through the key barrel so to isolate any electrical problems?

Thanks in advance.

you own an auto repair shop and youre asking these basic questions????????????

if you was speaking to me be advised that english is my third language and for me "turn over" means that the flywheel, crankshaft or what ever you want has to turn/rotate/spin etc.:( ....and i dont have an auto repair shop.... i'm just trying to help as i can :focus:

When starting the engine, the starter just keeps on turning (cranks) and the engine wont fire up.

there could be many reasons,
1. did you use a dedicated tool for LR to read the codes? ... cos you must have had some codes on injectors due to the oily loom

if yes and no codes

2. check the earth connections at that rail near the battery/jack compartment, especially the middle one

3. check fuse F1 in engine bay and F24 in the interior fusebox

if you didnt use a dedicated tester do somehow to plug it in one cos D2 is not OBDII compliant and we'll shoot in blind here, a management failure usually leaves traces in the ECU memory

that crank - no start symptom is specific for crankshaft position sensor failure but this one in most cases generates a fault code.
