Hi all

Battery has been disconnected for around a month whilst I was working on the D2, the sunroof will now not open, fuses ok, any thoughts ?

motor rusted and seized. had it on mine took apart cleaned and put back there is a thread on here about it. tkaes all of 20 minutes

Both mine stopped working at the same time too. If not used regular . They rust and seize up ,as said above , very easy to clean and fix. Just check see if ya got power at the motor .:)

Check settings in BCU also. I stripped my fuse box due to oil in it, and on powering back up it thought it was a v8 manual instead of a td5 auto.

Unscrew the 8 or so screws on the trim above the drivers head and expose the motor. Check its getting a voltage. If voltage present remove motor, open it up, clean an re grease. You may have got some water in. Removing the trim also exposes the sunroof ecu for check or replacement. Its only a 20 minute job.

For info both mine appeared dead. Cleaned as per above and both now work. You'll have to drop rear headlining for the back motor, so check front first.
