Hi guys, am new on here and would really appreciate some help.

We have a P38 Range Rover 4.0 1998. Before a long trip last week my partner checked all fluid levels, etc and changed the plug leads, checked all fuses. He took it for a short trip around town to check all was well and it worked fine. The next morning, turned the key and it turns over but there is no spark and no pulse from the fuel pump. Regards to the pump, he checked the inertia switch and that's all fine.

We were told it was probably the crankshaft sensor, so we duly replaced it. Still nothing.

We have tried the access code but still nothing is happening.

Also, does anyone know how we can bypass the immobiliser section of the alarm?

Any ideas please as divorce is imminent at this rate!

Only with diagnostics. Sounds like it's lost sync.
+1

The Engine ECU and the BeCM (Body Electrical Control Module) need to 'handshake' and ensure the two codes stored match eachother - if they don't the car will immobilse and not start. This is to stop people with a rogue BeCM fitting it and nicking your car with their key....

The Only way to resync is to use a diagnostics device or the BBS Syncmate tool - this tells the two ECU's to stop being silly and to force re-learn of the sync code so they match again....
