At the risk of trying to fix something on my rangie albeit still not running i thought i would try and fix something that i might actually be able to fix for a change the cd player in the boot an alpine unit, it was totally dean nothing at all no matter what you did nowt happend...

So at a bid to try and turn the corner and actually fix something i thought i would investigate pulled radio out to find the aftermarket i phone tom tom kit had beed looped into the wiring for the autochanger and the tom tom kit was coming out anyway so i removed the tom tom iphone thing reconnected the cd player as land rover intended and hey presto the cd multichanger powers up motors spring into life so far so good whoo hoo...fixed something:confused:

Gets some cd's sticks them in loads cartidge and turns to cd on head unit and nowt other than head unit saying no cd when clearly there is a full set of six all genuine no copys and all the correct way up etc etc...

so it appears that ****ed as well....but at least it powers up so i know its that now etc...

Why did i buy this sodding car tell me why i need m arse kicked lol.....

Bud, I feel for you I really do...!!

My CD Changer in the L322 also doesn't work - it powers up, put the cassette in and it motors as if it is trying to load the discs, but it doesn't engage the tray to pull the disc across....

Rouble with the L322 is to get it out to see what the deal is means disassembling the Dash - atleast the P38 can be removed relativly simply....

See if it is actually motoring the disc trays into the machine and just not reading the disc, or if the thing isn't loading the tray....they are fairly simple mechanically and It might just be a misalighned part of the mech!!

Keep the faith bud, I know it is difficult at the moment, but she is such a looker it would be a shame to scrap or get rid of....

yeah when ive checked my mates volvo XC90 next door when you load the cartridge full of discs the changer sounds like its picking each disc up and putting it back in turn and takes about 45 seconds doing it mine when you insert the cartridge just buzzes for 2/3 seconds and does nowt else then sticks no disc up on radio display .....

Sounds like the loading mech is jammed....

See if you can get the front cover off, and check the mech underneath...it may be something simple....

I gave up on the L322 changer and now use a FM tranny on my iPod and tune the radio in...!!

Cheers Saint will have a looky at that too then,,, bloody list is getting longer quicker than i can fix the sodding thing :)

It is a Range Rover after all....

You are a true inspiration dude, with all that is going on you have kept a cool head and a sense of humour too....

Both of those traits means you are a true and deserving Rangie owner...don't give up on her bud, she is worth it.....

Same thing on the CD unit in my other car. Never worked since I got it. CDs go in, even managed to cycle through them but after that it kicks up an error. I think they're just sh!t!

On the upside, I got an after-market one (Pioneer) from the local tip for £20 and that's pretty good. It all works!

Saint--It wont beat for sure its ****ed me off to much now so its getting sorted no matter what it is i will show it who is boss....

Grrrrr---im going to try another changer and see if that sorts it out....
