I was coming to that conclusion myself, I was wondering if it was a TD5/Puma drive but as no one has jumped in I guess not. It is the speedometer cable and I can't work out why (if it was an electronic take off) it is still connected mechanically.

No that's down behind the kettle valve below the overdangle lifting spring. I checked that as a matter of course, it was operating at a slightly higher temperature than normal but as the relief cup wasn't full i guess it's not an issue ??

td5 or puma wouldnt use a cable for speedo ,if speedo works its still connected ,by the looks of it it is anyhow

Aye everything works fine (in the speedo department ) I just can't figure out what it is .... The speedo is a little over (about + 7 or 8%) above 50 (when checked against my GPS) so no issues at all there.

I need to stick a small person under the bonnet with a volt meter and see what happens, either that or connect some wires and feed them through to the cab ....
