Minging Steering wheel

Desperately trying to find a "nice" steering wheel cover for my minging 200tdi steering wheel. There is a geezer on e-blag that does them for everything but the 200tdi !! At the worst I'l have to change the whole wheel but I'm not into "boy racer" ones.

Any ideas ???

Cheers Matey! Would love to if I could be sure it would fit??? 200 tdi not the same splines as the 300tdi etc ..................

Have heard that certain TD5 models might fit but no idea which ones ??

I'm all too familiar with the minefield of Land Rover steering wheel splines.
I changed mine last year and ended up having to purchase the steering boss for a 1995 Rover 214, as this is the only one that will fit a 1994 300 Disco with 29 splines!

I'm pretty sure that during my research though that all the 200tdi & early Defenders were a 36 spline.

Just tried the wheel off a 200tdi Disco that I have rotting in the garden, same splines but it won't go on properly as there is'nt the same recess behind as the original and it's blue

Correct ! it's a 36 spline !

Thanks a lot for that I must admit I'm half tempted by one of them sports wheels. Do you post to France ?

What them's smaller wheels like off-road ? I imagine your going to get a lot more feed back/bust fingers through the wheel.

I'm going to have to do somthing quick as all the leather is ripping on mine, so I have to patch with insulation tape and now the tapes coming off in the heat-Like an old tennis racket handle

Your'e using the wrong tape, you need black gaffer/duct tape, Mag tape is good for steering wheels, its got a finer weave!!

Have a look at the Richbrook R1 or R2 steering wheel on eBay.

I've got the R2, Funky Kip has the R1.
Both look good but the R1 is cheaper these days. Never used to be?!

You will need a 36 spline boss if you go down this route though. Depends what your budget for one is.

Just check with the seller that the horn push is built into the boss. I'd have thought it will be.

I have the mounteney steering wheel but the universal boss is crap. Has two lil grub screws which wobble out after several days. Going to have to weld it I think. Don't trust it. Mines only a 14" and feels lil small tbf

Not got a budget (within reason) been looking at loads on e-blag but am weary as a lot look like cheap crap!! If it's no good sending it back from France to the U.K is going to be an issue
