Replacing the rear crank oil seal on the 200tdi prior to doing the conversion. Now where to get the seal from, Ebay has them for around £10. Dealer £30.
Which would be the best?????????
I am thinking dealer cos I dont want to do it twice

My god James how do you cope with all these part numbers rolling around your head????(thanks)
My reason for the dealer was that I would be garrenteed to have the best and I would be willing to pay the extra as I don`t want to take it apart again.

Heres a thought........If I swap all of the rear of the engine(clutch, flywheel and the bit of bellhousing thats bolted to the engine), Do I get a seal for a 200tdi or the 19j??????

Thanks James, got a bit worried for a sec then as already spoke to the dealer. What do you do for the gasket on the between the engine and bellhousing? Will instant do or replace the whole thing?

I used a 200 tdi gasket which has sealant beads already on it. On the 19j bell housing there will be extra sticking out. But I think that's better than using 1 pint of goo.

Instant gasket will be fine for bell housing... iirc LR went over to building all thier gearboxes with gunk instead of gaskets around 1994 anyway...
