After bypassing my EGR I noticed that the inlet manifold had about 10mm of sludge inside it. I have been looking at ways to clean it and came across some people using brake fluid.
I have also heard of people using brake fluid to de-coke the engine, by pouring it into the air intake or atomizing it with a spray gun.
Does anyone think the brake fluid can de-coke the engine and would they suggest using it on a TD4.
If I was to clean the Inlet manifold with brake fluid I i could leave some excess fluid in the manifold that should then be blown into the engine and de-coke it.

Oven cleaner the petrol with a wag cleans up lovely The wife said if only i could clean the oven with such care :D:D:D

i ahve the same problem with mine but if you put brake cleaner in the engine it will wash the bores and cause all sorts of problems....... i removed my inlet manifold and cleaned it on the bench mate.. much safer!!!

Jeep used to recommend using brake fluid!

done mine last year, mr muscle, bottle brush and elbow grease.

The black carbon ****e that comes off will be lots, also make sure that you do not need to go in the house for anything, cos you'll only tread the said black **** all over the front room carpet. Blaming the 5 year old is no good, he doesnt have size 10 boots, it costs me a new carpet too, this **** doesnt come out of a red carpet.

As posted in the EGR thread, I sealed the EGR hole in the manif temporarily then spooned in dishwasher powder and poured in boiling water. Repeated three times, very effective grease destroyer ! Obvs the manif was off the car :p
