Little old lane ...

Just found a 'new' little lane I didn't know about, on the way back from Ferrybridge and noticed it on the laptop screen as I passed! Returned and had a little drive down, as you do, and found a mostly unspoiled and overgrown lane with an interesting downhill, twisty end, directly onto a road, almost hidden in the foliage! Couple of offshoots along it but didn't have time to follow them, but that'll wait for another day ..

It'll be interesting in winter as the opposite way will all be uphill. It's something I've passed a few times, knew it was on the map, but never bothered about it before! Looking at the map now and there are a few more in the area, few hundred yards of each soon adds up to a day out!

Which is why I don't give out specific info .. I do a lot of work making sure I drive them legally.

Do the work, you can drive them .. come out with us when I've put together a legal days length route and you can drive them .. indeed you can drive them anyway, but I think YKWIM ..

I clicked on your 'Finding green lanes' link and basically that is what I do when looking for lanes up on the Yorkshire Wolds. I used to live in Ferrybridge but it was before my Landy days and since I got my Landy I have usually gone North and East to either Wolds or Moors areas. Have found most of the lanes up there but never thought to look closer to home.

Thing is they're mostly old farmers tracks, very few of them are challenging, most are overgrown and little to never used .. but that's how I like 'em ..

Mind, I also like getting balls-deep in mud and ****e and gnarly rocks, but that's usually elsewhere ..
