I have just done my cambelt on my 200 and first time I missed by a tooth on the pump, I reset it afterwards but I havent got proper pins and the pump timing got adjusted. It runs with no white smoke so cant be far off but it got warm on the drive home today, not in the red but top of the white...
My fuel gauge stopped and my alternator light is on, this indicates the belt is slipping but its a new belt and tight. I am wondering if the alternator is siezing up and causing drag but I cant see why, it still spins and its not overly hot belt isn't shiney e.t.c. I have heard the dampers on the crank pulley can cause issues, anyone shed some light on this?
Only changes I have made is fit a rev counter which goes to the 'W' on the alternator, cant think why this would cause any issues but im throwing it out there...
any help much appreciated, bloody landrovers are doing me in now!!
