Strange request for left-over bits

Hello kind gentlemens and ladies,

OK, here's what I'm after. Anyone who has done the TD5 EGR bypass, has probably ended up with a bit of stainless pipe that used to go from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve. I need a couple of the pipe ends from the exhaust manifold end. The bit with the oval end with a little bit of the pipe mounted in the middle. This bit:

I'd happily take the whole pipe, but posting will be easier if you cut the end off, preferrably after the bend, but certainly with as much of the straight pipe as possible before the bend. PM me your beer token requirements and I'll PM you my address if anyone has one or two lying about, I can probably use up to 4, but can do the job with only 2. I have one.

I have fitted a wee genny into my landy and want to take the exhaust outside. These ends would make a perfect coupling to go through the floor.

How much pipe do you need after the flange? As the one's ive got seem shorter before you get to the bend

Just enough to attach a piece of flexible exhaust piping, say at least an inch.

My plan is to cut the original silencer off the flange at the engine, attach a piece of flexible exhaust piping which will lead to one of the TD5 pipes with flange. Then, drill the floor to match the flange, then fit same on outside (all sealed of course) then on to the silencer etc.

I can't draw so it'll be:

engine with original flange and a cut off pipe --- flexi pipe --- TD5 pipe with flange --- floor ---TD5 flange with pipe --- flexi pipe --- original silencer (or other)

My drawing is really crap, but this might help explain what I mean.

I hope that makes sense, I know what I mean so I understand it.

The egr valve from a transit has the same fitting on one end and I think a flange fitting on the other but they are longer. I have one in my truck if you want it? I'm on holiday in Cornwall at the moment so I won't be able to post it for a week

To be honest, any two flanges with a short bit of pipe will do the job as long as they match up for bolt holes etc. I was asking for TD5 ones as I have one already. But I will be grateful for any two I can get.

Not half .. Been mulling over doing similar to our caravan .. we use 'rally' sites a lot with no electric hook-up and are basically self-sufficient, but lugging the genny out of the boot to the side of the 'van is cumbersome to say the least!

Now you've got me thinking about similar, but maybe on a slide-out tray so the genny can be completely sealed from the 'van inside, but have loads of ventilation when needed ... or even mount it in front of or behind the axle underneath, with an elongated exhaust .. so many ideas kicking around ..

Superb, that's what sharing our ideas is all about, if it has got you thinking then you might come up with improvements which will help the next guy and so forth.
So go for it and get it installed.

Just an update to let everyone know I got what I was needing. AaronMorris very kindly sent me one he had and it was even better than I could have anticipated as his had two flanges on it (my old fender one only has one flange.) So after some judicious use of a hacksaw, I now have exactly what I needed to pass the exhaust through the floor, I am having to wait for a couple of flanges being made for me as I had overlooked the fact that the original silencer pipe is too short to cut and I have arranged to have a couple made for me. I need two made which will match the original genny manifold so I can connect my home-brew pipe to the engine and then marry the other end up to the original exhaust. All will become clear once I get it put together and I'll post it (with photo's) on my conversion thread HERE.

I know its late but but i would of said try some of this 24mm EXHAUST PIPE FOR EBERSPACHER / WEBASTO HEATER 1MET | eBay . theres several different sizes of the stuff around on the bay .

Thanks for your input sypher, that is exactly what I will be using, I have some already at hand for my Eberspacher and a little left over for the genny.

Good intentions and ideas are never too late.
