New Concept for 4x4

Hey guys, new here...Basically am in the process of designing a new concept for a 4x4 off and on road car..I am working on the interior especially focused on the clusters and future tft screens...As you lot are the experts , i got a couple of questions, that i would like you to ask and would be really helpfull to get some replies, hopefully improve future/current cars..
first off

What you like to add? options buttons?

What would like to do ? off road and on road? e.g. screen for instance showing the balance of car whilst off roading or pressure gauges...

Stealth mode or off road mode?

what would like to add to make the off roading experience better? ...am thinking front camera-recording your drive and able to share?

Making your car a bit more family or missus friendly? off road or on road?

Colour Schemes? or colour library?

Options you like to have when not off road?

Gauges?

what look for gauges do you want? futuristic? 3d? holograms?

Extras?

What do you think about tft screens/touch screens?

What do you want to see more off?

What do you like most about off roading?

What do you like most about customising your 4x4? or why?

What do like most about owning one? ..e.g boss

to what application?

Cameras get muddy. I would think

Good ground clearance.
Distance between wheels not excessive.
Short overhangs.
Practical access and hardy.
Easily interchangeable parts.
Good allround vision and mirrors.
Lighting wise options of rooflights.
Hardy bumpers with easy options for accessorizing.
Engine must be simplistic,strong and accessible. As in able to work on anywhere.

Personally a defender.

Oh and everything galvanized at production.

What you like to add? a winch ARBs a compressor and a roll cage

options buttons? cab winch controls with AC

What would like to do ? off road and on road? e.g. screen for instance showing the balance of car whilst off roading or pressure gauges... The screen showing the tyre pressures would be pretty cool but a bit technically advanced for me and to sensored and off road

Stealth mode or off road mode? bat man or normal man off road mode

what would like to add to make the off roading experience better? ...am thinking front camera-recording your drive and able to share? less eletrics you go offroading to enjoy the beauty not to take your office with you it would ruin it in the world of mass connections and internet everywhere its nice to switch off and not have a phone ring or in my case im quite often somewhere offroading where you cant get signal so its peace and quiet

Making your car a bit more family or missus friendly? off road or on road? a decent sound system

Colour Schemes? or colour library? ist it the same thing

Options you like to have when not off road? not quite sure

Gauges? turbo boost, speedo rev counter, battery charge, fuel gauge temperature guage oil pressure guage air pressure guage (compressor)

what look for gauges do you want? futuristic? 3d? holograms? guages that read and dont lie

Extras? rock sliders steering guard diff guards dan bars

What do you think about tft screens/touch screens? lovley in a show car but useless in my land rover

What do you want to see more off? common sense when designing and less EU law and legislation

What do you like most about off roading? the freedom it gives me when im in the forest and going places i know i cant get to by foot or road and popping out and seeing the most amazing views of mountains and all the natural marvels i get to see deep in the forest

What do you like most about customising your 4x4? or why? it is being adapted and customised for a purpose to take me in to the forest when a standard motor wont hope to get there i make up things for specific purposes to suit me no one else and it says what i love and what i do

What do like most about owning one? driving something very sspecial that can take me places other 4x4s just cant go and that i built to my specs for me

screens aint for off roading. SCreens are for googling porn. The screens in the l322 are all show items. Ya still have a head outta the window. Drove one with an adventure cam once. Pointless werent even good for reversing. Me old man has a gaylnder 2 with a screen.Its always the big clock, unless its the sat nav

keep it simple stupid

engine temp gauge, oil pressure, and rev counter......maybe battery volts is all thats needed on the dash.

door mirrors that dont move if you brush a hedge and swing back on something solid

steering linkage that dont bend

solid bumpers and good entry/ exit angles

nowt to bang yer elbows on.

no carpets so you can hose the mud out

not sure if 13 yr olds know about tft screens..u guessed wrong nonetheless am the guy who loves cars and i want create the best, its a shame u had to act like 13yr old but it is a project not a school one unfortunately ,hope u cud have helped as u cud have had something helpful to add....

Delete everything not absolutely necessary. Over engineer. Make it so the entire thing comes apart with basic tools. Stick your tft screens up your arse

ok in plain terms: less is more. no switches. no screens. good old fashioned Isambard Kingdom Brunel style engineering.hard as nails, works and does no more. But i cant imagine any new car will ever have that again. who do you work for by the way?

This sounds like some sort of 6th form/uni year one product design assignment and as the others say you sound like you know SFA………so lets begin (you're in luck I'm still not allowed to be a nob to people yet)








What you like to add? I'd quite like a pre-waxoyl'd chassis and full offroad kit i.e. snorkel, breathers, waterproofing….you know practical stuff.

Options buttons? Is there an option to get these 5 minutes back ?

What would like to do ? off road and on road? e.g. screen for instance showing the balance of car whilst off roading or pressure gauges… Erm well as its a "4x4" and as you're asking about a landrover a design thats meant to be offroaded I think I'd kinda like it to do offroad driving ? oh I'd like a fuel gauge, a boost gauge and a temp gauge too...

Stealth mode or off road mode? Seriously WTF is stealth mode seriously are you planning on selling this to Batman? Course I want a button to make it go off road wheres the point in having a large 4x4 that cant?

...am thinking front camera-recording your drive and able to share ? Yeah thats a good idea……..add more complex electronics that'll require the entire dash to be dismantled if it breaks. How about you just supple everyone with one of them £50 adventure cams.

It's a landrover, not a gaylander, not a RR……its an offroader now stop thinking stupid thoughts…..if the woman cant get into it cos its too high she can get a step ladder and try again. And as to family friendly ? how about a 7mm chassis with steel support struts running through the body, full roll cage and 10mm pointy winch bumpers at either end so that when you hit something like a fiesta you go through it like a hot knife through butter ?

Options you like to have when not off road? I'd like to be able to have a high range box so I can do 70 on the m'way…..don't think thats ever been done before and it sucks, while you're at it you might as well throw in a sports button so I can overtake people

Gauges? you already asked this…….

what look for gauges do you want? futuristic? 3d? holograms? As soon as you start making windscreen F-15 style gauges you're asking for trouble, these are meant to be fixable at home without the need for a pocket stephen hawking……gauges with needles will do, you can make them glow blue though

Offroading requires ground reading skills not electrickery ' Landrover already put split screens in rangerovers , parking sensors , electronic diff locks and such , but you still need to read the land and it's much more of a challenge in a basic vehicle and if your somewhere where there are not many dealer facilities basic is best . What your proposing sounds fine for road cars but isn't that the most manufacturers are going anyway ?
