Changed the air and oil filters along with an oil change.
Got to renew the oil sump pan due to a previous owners bodged sump plug repair.
Received box of newly ordered bits to play with at the weekend!!
Previous bonnet lock hell now resolved thanks to you kind folks!!

Just washed the tyres too to get rid of the blue **** they put on at the factory the front two should be here in a couple of days
And yes a de-cat is worth it

You might want to check your front brake calipers and pads as you got lots of break dust there. Also check the slides for the pads as they might just be gunk up with dirt /mud and not fully releasing

Cheers Ft but don't worry I'm one step ahead of you the garage checked them when they did the oil change and transmission fluid. Told me the pads will last the disc then change them all over. Gonna get some EBC's I think. It is very dusty though, dads isn't as bad but I'm not sure if he's using a different make or not.

Changed the oil and filter on time ish, last did it in July '11 but it has only done 2k miles since. Checked oil levels in main Gearbox, Transfer box and axles.
Gradually moving my half yearly services away from the coldest parts of the winter, ideally I'd like to get to doing them in April and October.

Fitted a Bosch recon starter motor to the 110, absolute bastid of a job because my downpipe can't be removed in situ, and there is bugger all room to maneuver the starter in and out of position. But got it done and it starts perfectly now

And 5 minutes after finishing the above, discovered my head gasket leaking from the rearmost cylinder between the cylinder and atmosphere Ah well, full top end rebuild and might even do piston rings and shells whilst I'm at it...

Picked 'im up from t'other side of Dartmoor.

Just a wee 130 mile drive home. A 'bit' on the noisy side, guess that'll be due to the lack of carpets and the hole in the transmission tunnel. And clunky transmission, I'll do a search and maybe post in the tech area...

And then not being able to switch the headlights on when it got dark.

Then I remembered the ol' Land Rover motto, if it don't work then hit it and if that don't work hit it harder. They came on. We got home. Now planning the mods!

just took the disco out for it's first run after decat, no more vibration, than before, which i was expecting due to using the non flexi fender down pipe, tick over smoother acceleration improved so just got to wait and see if economy improves (can always hope)

Oooooh forgot to say, I went to the metal workers he's making me a peak to go under the lights and stop the bonnet glare £40 for a black powder coated, 3mm ally tig welded peak that will run the profile of the bar.

Also played limbo with the disco in the underground carpark, the new lights have added a bit of height to the roof but I made it in and out without hitting the barriers

New clear indicators also arrived so I'm gonna fit them once I wash the bugger (came in for a snack and a cuppa )

That'll fix the cracked one thats filled with water


Anyway heres the pics, haven't tested all 4 wheels together but tested it with the AT/MT combo front end got bogged in couldn't move so dropped it into reverse and it popped right out thanks to the MT's

I did what I do every weekday in mine. I drove it to work with a big grin on my face. Ok. So it mists up, is loud, cold, not very comfortable and only does 31 to the gallon but I'm a bit simple so I drive to work with a smile

New door top arrived so fitted it
