starter motor !!

ive got a seriously underachieving starter motor on me series 3 diesel has anyone ever opened one up and sorted the problem out if not would anyone wanna see how i get on with mine

I'd like to see too. Looks a beast of a unit from the outside. I'm sure they're made from old bomb shell casings

i aint rewound one but changed brushes with a kit and put kit in solenoid and cleaned it up ,

the exhaust gets in the way!!!! turn up down left right knuckle rash ow **** bollocks drop the down pipe off....for all the room in the engine bay its bastid tight in places...

right a crowbar 4lb lump hammer 3 foot scaff tube and a pair of welding gauntlets should be all the tooling and health&safety i require
