ok, so basically i won a p38 on ebay with a few woes. its a 95 4.6 se with lpg fitted. When i bought it it had been sitting on a TA site for well over a year so no tax or test, cat hanging out of its arse, lpg no working a few cosmetics. LPG turned out to be a fuse, awesome.
The EAS is another story. I bought the diagnostic software and have just been through the procedure as per the disc, now, it says that after a reset and unplugging the cable, i should be able to turn the truck on and after 10 mins or so it should rise. i sat there for 20 mins...nothing. turned it off, then back to ign 2, could not hear any compressor noise. turned it back on, not displaying any EAS fault but its still innop. Im now at a dead end and need help

i so i just plugged it and went through the motions again, this time it didnt show any faults. i went into the functions menu and turned on the compressor, not sure exactly how its meant to sound but it is definately making a noise so im assuming this is in a working condition. whats my next step?

Need to check the compressor is making air, undo blue air line underneath compressor, Shudnt be able to cover the air coming out with your thumb ( official wammers test) if u can stop the air compressor is shot

ok cheers, il pop outside again after dinner to freeza my nuts off. Thanks for the help guys btw, hoping i can trace the fault to whatever it is and get it sorted

There are 2 possibilities, the compressor is not making any pressure, or you have a major air leak. The airsprings have a life of 7/8 years so if original they are probably leaking, this overworks the compressor until it fails. It is also possible the diaphragm in the valve block has failed.

If there is no fault displayed, when you start the car the lower lamp on the EAS switch should be on and the lamp for the normal height should be flashing showing that it is trying to raise.

been busy so tomorrow im going to disconnect this blue air hose and do the "wammers" test. im hoping it is just a compressor although i have allowed for a set of new bags also

no, how do i do this? im a complete p38 noob so didnt want to mess about with anything

If you stick your location in your details you might find that someone with more knowledge might be willing to come along and, with a cuppa in one hand, point a finger at the relevant bits and mumble helpful comments through a mouthful of biscuits.

:D
