Hi there,
Was just looking at a thread by POS and he mentioned that the TD4 external fuel pump is a good alternative for the, utterly crap mechanical fuel pump:mad:

Well its not crap, I am just ****ed off that my 3rd lift pump has buggered up, they seem to work well, then just decide to suck and blow as opposed to what they are supposed to do:mad:

Has anyone tried the TD4 fuel pump on their 200/300/19j and had any positive results they wanna share with me?

Since I fitted my 200tdi i have had nothing but problems with my fuel, I have fekked about doing various things, and still, when I just get into 3rd gear, it starts to starve, I lose throttle response, let it tick over a bit then it'll pick up again...ect...

Sick to death of the smell of diesel for today, gonna bury my head in other things.
All help will be appreciated, I don't often wander to far from 'anything goes' unless I have a serious problem and at the end of my tether..please help:Cry: :frusty::frusty:

You know the drill......... have you started from the tank pump/screen? veg mix or diesel fuel filters. What brand of pumps/new or used. Where purchased flea bay good deals or parts store

Are you sure its the pump and not something silly like the diesel filter. I had the same symptoms as you have described. I changed the Diesel filter and its runs beautifully.
I have a 1990 200tdi. I don't think the pump has ever been changed.
