Did a fluid service today plus a few bits and bobs, diff oil, transfer box, grease props, filters, engine oil,and last job, spark plugs, of course there was one that was too tight to undo - sprayed loads of penetrating fluid and will leave 'til next week. it's gonna bug me now that one cylinder is on an old plug! Grrrrr!

Surprised I haven't broke it already - gave it a pretty hard tweak!

Try it with a warm engine.

Just brought my rangie on monday, 4.0 se but the spec seems the same as a hse ie wood door cappings, electric sunroof, headlight wipers front fogs etc, its s reg and has the clear indicators and the pleats on the seats, its totaly unmolested but i thought that this sort spec was 99 onwards. Anyway a good service was the first job for my motor and a little tip i always do is put a dab of copper slip on the plug threads, have you tried getting the engine nice and hot this can often help, just mind the hot exhaust.

Thanks for the advice chaps, the engine was warm. I do dab a bit of copper-slip on the threads when I change 'em. I'll give it another go next weekend. If she doesn't shift I'll try the impact gun (low torque setting of course) failing that I'll leave it. If it's stuck there's no point breaking it until I need to change the plug. My contract is up, so I'll be out of work soon, plenty of time then!
