Hi all, new to the site and like most P38 owners, I have a problem that I need some advice on :)

My rear drivers side door is stuck locked solid. Everything else on the vehicle appears ok and the central locking, alarms etc work ok. However, I cannot open the rear drivers side door, by either pulling the handle inside or out.
Now, the problem is complicated by the fact that when I turn everyting off and remove the key, I can hear a high pitched noise from the door.I am guessing this must be the servo (sorry if wrong word) for the locking system...this results in a flat battery in two or three days. ( and just as a word I am 99% this is the cause of the drain as familiar with the other rf drain probs common on these).
I cannot see anyway to get remove door panel to get access while shut or to force door open so I have two questions.....

1) is there easy way to gain access to the lock or trim ??

or 2 ) If i simply cut the two wires responsible for the door locking system at the becm will this solve the problem(i realise disabling the door) or will the becm have a mental fit as these two outputs no longer in the circuit ??

Thanks in advance, and just to warn you I sound more technically minded than I actually am lol :)

Have a look at www.rangerovers.net lots of info on door locks and access. Otherwise look at RAVE for the door lock wiring. Can't remember but I think th rear door is actually controlled from the drivers door outstation, somebody will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong. It's usually the fronts that fail.

Thanks , I have searched on line here and elsewhere but the only two answers I have seen is either to unbolt the door and break clasp or to sacrifice door panel inside after removing seats, both seem drastic !!! I can live with the doo just not working and wire cutting seems a much cheaper answer but even though I have the two leads from the becm identified, can anyone tell me if cutting these wires and isolating the door will cause the becm to cause any other sytem problems or will it just give me a warning on the dash ????
