Just finished faffing about undoing some goons attempt at fixing the hand brake on the missus's disco, and finding he'd put the oil seal in back to front! I'd already adjusted the hand brake, without knowing the T/box oil was in the H/brake causing it to slip, so it bound on on the way home the other day! Yay! burning oil and smoke everywhere! So undone the ****wits stupidity, and all is well. I'm now paranoid about the H/brake jamming again. logic says the drum would be slightly warm after driving, just from radiated heat from exhaust etc, and it was. Is this the norm? or have I adjusted it too tight? dont fancy doing it all again!:) Cheers guys!

yeah new shoes, springs, the lot. everything was dripping in oil so i thought it best. Like i say, its not proper hot like when it did bind on, but it is still warm. is that normal?

It will get as hot as the t box.
I adjust the hand brake adjusting bolt on the back plate until the brake drum wont turn then back off the bolt a turn and a half.
