Hello am back again, i recently got my self an 02 td5 disco as a repair project it come with 2 engines both in bits so i set to work making one good engine out of the parts i had. now its in and i cant get it to run on its own i have fuel to the engine and put a new fuel pump in bit still cant get hear to fire she will run on easystart but as soon as u stop the spray she dies with no fuel i think the problem is with the injectors i did not have any order that there come out of the engine and the book didnt say witch ones go where so i just put them in as there come our the box as i didn't take it apart in the first place but reading more deeply into the book it says that if fitting new injectors i have to program the ECM using a testbook, so do i need to reprogram the ECM as the injectors are going to be in a different order and if so how can i do this with out spending £3000 on a testbook or a lot to go see a dealer
hope some one has done this before many thanks every one for all your help

it can be done using a nanocom or hawkeye type diagnostic, which some people on here have , ask if there's anyone local to you willing to help

it plugs into diagnostic port on the car, and communicates with the ecm, more than that i dont know as i dont have one

yes i have done the normal stuff i have fuel to the engine and back to the tank and it has a new fuel pump also so i cant think of anything else that it could be as it dues run if i keep spraying easystart into the air intake so it must be a fuel issue

have you checked all the sensor plugs on the engine loom are connected, especially the crank sensor down the back of the engine

I had the same sort of fault, engine would fire on easy start but but not run. It was the injectors 2 needed servicing. Your problem is the injectors need to be programed as Jonlads reply. If you have not got access to a Nanocom yet try and find a good independant garage aprox £80 + 1 hours labour, only problem is you have to get the Disco to them if you tow it dont forget to put transfer box in neutral. Good luck

You can program the injectors to the ECU with Nanocom/Hawkeye but you will need the individual injector codes from the top of each injector and the corresponding cylinder position that they are fitted. Piston 1 is at the front of the engine.

Hi,
normally you can start and run the engine without the correct order for injectors (when i rebuilt my TD5 i don't have the correct order of injectors and my disco run perfectly) this is only for optimize combustion and pollution
