Kinky stick

I need to put a bend/kink in my gear stick to accommodate a touchscreen on my command console thing. Anyone done this before? Is there an easy way? Does it come off easily?

I don't have a cutting torch. I do have a blow torch and a vice...

Is that the one that is underneath the rubber gaiter around the stick?

Thank you. I shall get the spanners out and have a go now.

So your saying that I can just move it around on the splines to give a different kink to the stick?

yes stick would fit on in any position rotationally

Got it off, but moving around on the splines doesnt give me enough space. Cant bend it in the vice by hand so think it will need heating up to bend. Times like this i need a welder!

Butane blow torch should get there as well - just slower

Managed to move it on the spines enough to get it to miss the screen.
