Hi all

have been playing with the eas s/w today as i would like to achieve a lower ride hight, the car never goes off road and has 22" wheels and 30 profile tyres and the gap between the tyres and the wheel arch just look wrong.

so have set the std ride hight to the motorway setting and saved the new setup in the eas menu etc.

however the eas system then goes into soft fault and all lights flash and bells ring etc and i get a message that the ride hight is wrong.

if i then put it back as it was all ok, so help please any ideas how i can achieve a lower ride or what maybe wrong?

thanks

Tony:doh:

had some vogue 19" on before but wanted to go bigger22 stormers look great to me and like i said never seen a field and never will with me just a weekend toy.

Why do you want to set a lower ride height. With your wheels and tyres it will be like driving around on the bump stops. Would it not make more sense to lock it at motorway setting on dash instead of playing with the height settings and causing problems, then at least you have a choice. When your tired of driving around like a pimp looking real cool and having your teeth rattled and back deformed you can set to standard height.

was looking for some help today guys not a load of crap, oh well will work it out for my self or not but some usefull pointers would have been nice. have been around on the forum for a couple of years now helping out others when needed not often I need help just lucky i have a good un.

thanks

Tony:)

If you push the lock button in on the dash, then press the down button, it will go to motorway height and stay there. You can't just alter the normal setting to motorway height the ECU is too smart for that.

Did you also put in a new lower value for the highway setting? I expect there would have to be a difference between them and maybe that difference is a set amount??

Tony you got help, lock it at motorway. That's all you need to do. With your wheels and tyres it will be a bone shaker at motorway height.

Hi

well thats more like it and yes set the motorway setting 2 points lower at each corner to try and trick the eas computer but alas no.

any other thoughts please ?

Tony

tony, you have been advised/told that the pooter says NO,it will not be fooled into doing what you want it to do.as said earlier it will be on the bump stops,or almost and it will make for a very harsh uncomfortable ride.just put it on to the motorway setting then use the inhibit switch to lock it there.;)

Ok then will put on the lower ride hight setting and see how we get on, I was sure that I redd somewhere that you can re programe the eas ride hights without ballsing the system up.

thanks for your thoughts on the task and will just press the button.

You're dead right, you can re-set the ride heights. The important part is heights plural. So, if you want to change one you've got to change the rest to fit in with it.

Then if you drop standard height too low you might find that there isn't room for the 50mph and access heights to operate.

Try it locked on 50mph level for a while and see how you get on. With those wheels and tyres you might have some unexpected handling issues and you might be glad of normal suspension at the press of a button.

Don't think handling will be a problem as the speed limit on the island is 40mph:rolleyes:

Hi Keith

but don't forget am comming to visit you next week may get up to 45 on the a roads maybe even 50 on the motorways.

Tony:p

no speed humps but lots of holes in the road but then again no road tax.

A bit better off than us then. The planks that govern us take vast amounts in road tax, fuel tax, spend very little of it on roads, but of what they do spend they actually use more making raised potholes than filling them. You could not make it up.:D:D:D
