Hahaha, when you put it like that, only thing is at times you'll not get the freeview depending on location, then you might start with a signal booster!! As I got mine cheap from the overseas family mafia I settled for a unit without TV so you'd have one up on me!

hehe

i probably wont use the freeview but it may come in handy when stuck in slow traffic, as i dont think it will pick up signal whilst driving along at normal speeds.

:D

Nice one hippo...but isn't that the one I linked to 4 pages ago??? LOL

They're the people I got my headrests from, I bought them on Sunday and they arrived on Wednesday by Fedex, very well packed and great quality for the money!

So then lads, the race is on..... 1st one with fully installed pics wins a 1p chew.....

Oh well, looks like I'm outta this game :(

No-one does an iso adapter for the HK system and from what I've been reading using a standard iso adapter or re-wiring it yourself will just end up with either distorted loudness or really quiet output :( bit miffed cos my old 04 hse had the becker single din sat nav and i swapped it for a jvc avx-1 dvd and cos the becker was standard iso it worked perfectly? gotta be a way i reckon.........

oh so do have the H.K upgraded system ?

Im sure thats not true, unless theres an external amplifier somewhere in your car for the speakers ?

if you havent all your doing is rewiring the speakers into a new unit, it most make it sound bad.

maybe you can just get hold of a HK plug off an old freelander and splice onto that so you can just plug it into your existing cable in your car.

that way you dont have to splice / damage your existing wiring :p

yeah hippo, the hk system has a sub and amp in the boot cubbyhole. all of the hk speakers are a strange impedance so don't work well if just wired in, it all needs to go thru the amp :( as i said earlier tho, the uprated hk becker nav system was standard iso's so i swapped the head unit no bother, just needs a bit of working out me thinks when i've got a bit more time....

meant to ask...did you just hit buy it now or did you whack an offer in?

no posts from angus today, he may have taken the hints and be fitting it as we type lol

Hahaha...well done buddy!!! C'mon then, I'm off for a couple of days on the coast with my boys so prob won't be back online til Monday night so I expect to see some pics pics pics lol

dont forget the pictures :p:p:p

What of the farm!? It was real funny, yesterday walking into one of the outshed's and a mommy sheep was having lambs, my daughter was prop like "ugh" it's horrible!! Blood and all that everywhere..... Makes you think I should have just cracked on with the unit haha

OK I've made a start, the reverse camera is now fitted under the rear door handle, and it's all back together, I admit it's not a great deal of work done but I also chucked back on the Engine guard from other job I did on the car.

I would say that's the hard part out of the way so now it's just taking out the old unit and fitting the new, gps and then the headrests when they arrive.

It should be complete sometime soon, by next Sunday I'd say. As mentioned weeknights aren't great as I do training that's why I'm giving myself the time.

Anyhow I've took pictures of what I've done so far and will continue to do so until complete.....

These are the pictures I've taken on fitting the reversing camera to the rear door.

Pic 1, You can see the model camera I settled for sits under the rear handle on the door, this can be adjusted should I need to alter the camera angle at a later date.

Pic 2, The AV cable will be trailed to the front of the car under the carpet and into the rear of the centre DVD/GPS unit once fitted.

Pic 3, As you can see the rear light was removed and two (Blue) connecting clasps used to feed power to the camera (power on when reverse selected).

The complete handle was removed and rear door trim so I could install the wires through the door/2 sets of wire rubber protectors and feed the cables into and behind the boot trim, it's important that you leave the wires loose in the door, this allows you to bed them in so when lowering the window they don't get damaged.

Pic 4, Job done.

Whilst this job isn't hard, it does take a couple of hours to complete but with this out of the way, I'm not expecting any trouble from this point onwards........... Apart from the pending snow!!

The headrests, should be OK to fit if as Marky states both seats are the same for the 3 door to the 5 door. The unit's I've bought are side feeding units, DVD feeds it self in (as per a DVD/TV) the units also accept USB and SD cards and come with two sets of remotes per headrest and wireless headphones and I think without having to ask again they are 10" screens.

Marky, Question when you fed the wires into the seat what happened? I'm expecting having to cut some sponge or something, let me know what you had to do? does the poles in which you fit the headrest slide all the way down the seat to the bottom? your thread on this would be handy should you ever get around to it haha!

I have just bought a double din unit and am in the process of fitting it. The wiring loom fits fine but does anyone know what the wires are in socket C? I also need to find a signal wire for the hand break (which I assume is easy enough) and also a feed for the accelerator.
Will add photos of final install when complete....

PS I have a 2005 Freeland Sport ... Need to update Signature

Not sure at the mo, I'm at work, what colour is it?

For the handbreak you'll need to take off or atleast loosen off and lift centre console you'll see the wires going to the handbreak if you do as I'm sure they trail under the carpet up to a point. Could be wrong about that, was over 5 months since I looked.

Accelerator feed....... you've lost me for your new unit!?

Marky, do me a fav, look on your Native32 disks and tell me what programs are on? I think these will run on Flash UI. I've been looking on the Native website for downloadable games as my units don't come with any and think if it keeps the kids happy for 10 minutes I'll give it a go!!

I've downloaded a few test games and site advises that Flash UI must be downloaded to work these games, but link on site doesn't work. Since you've got the disks can you have a look and see what's on, cheers in advance!

I don't think that cable is an excelerator cable mate, it's probably labeled up as ACC ? Which means auxiliary connection which usually is a switched live that comes on with the first turn on the key.
And if I was you I wouldn't connect the handbrake cable ! Other wise it won't let you view any videos while your driving ! Which is not good if the kids are in the car ! Lol

It can be connected to 0v at the stereo to make it think the handbrake is on ;)

Didn't buy my unit yet off eBay
Still unsure about if it's going to take the Navigon sat nav software on it ??

It's £200 for the unit without maps or another £40 for the maps !
I want my own software on it I'm just not sure if it will take it ?
