p38 rear brakes

Im going to be changing the pads all round. The discs are quite new, not much wear, but pads quite low, the front are no probs, but never had a car with rear discs. Do the caliper pistons need to be wound back, or pushed back like the fronts? I have tried to download rave, 3 times, but never managed to get any of them to work, so will be going over everything slowly so know how to put it all back together after

just push them back and give them a good service,also a good time to check for axle outer seal leaks at same time

Going give the caliper a good clean up, and grease the sliders. Thanks, was bit conserned going to have to go and buy a wind back tool

having 3 cars including the p38 that wind back tool is a peach and worth every penny.
if you have a sticking piston great for pushing in and out without the piston shooting out

wind back pistons arent fitted to vehicles with transmission hand brakes

All you need to do is put an old pad across the piston and squeeze it back in with a G clamp.

Thanks for the answers. Glad to have a vehicle without drum brakes for a change. Dont have to fight with thm poxy little springs
