Hello everyone i hope someone can help me,
I have bought four 55 watt spotlights and a 12 volt wiring kit which contains 5 metres of wire, relay, connectors and a switch but i dont know how to wire them up. I would be very grateful if someone could help me.

Did you not get instructions with the kit?

If you google you'll find thousands of threads...just choose one thats easy for you to understand based on your level of skill with electrics.

Its really quite easy.

The relay will have 4 terminals marked 30 which is connect to battery via a fuse, terminal 87 is connected to the load (spot lights), terminal 86 is connected via the switch and a fuse 1amp to +12volt, terminal 85 is connected to ground.

Hope this helps.

I take it kit didnt come with wiring diagram, any relays? as spots they should be wired off main beam. i.e. use main beam to activate relay to power spots, were you draw feed from is up to you but check beind grill/bumper as wires might be there already

Basicaly as said many different ways depending on how you want the lights to come on.

heres a VERY basic line drawing

not if they are fitted as roof lights, its illegal to use them on the road if they are rooflights

Its ok if you put a switch inline with the relay so that you can use them offroad but disbale them while on the road as it would be illegal otherwise.

Yeah i know, i want to use them off a toggle switch that i can turn on and off myself.

Just copy my simple diagram above but take the 12v into the switch from a permanent or ignition live depending on your needs.
make sure you put a fuse inline.

The four spotlights on the rood how do i wire them up together just tie the wire together to each and the earth wire what do i do with that.?
