Main dealer courtesy cars?

Out of interest, what do main Land Rover dealers tend to use for courtesy cars?
One would assume they would give you something like for like. But on the other hand, would they really want you to take a Land Rover off the tarmac where there's a higher risk of it getting damaged?

nearest stealer to me has a Ford Connect courtesy car, which customers can use ONLY when the parts man isn't using it

First time my 110 Utility went in they gave me a Farmer's special 90 (Truck Cab with Ifor top, knobbly tyres and no fookin radio).
Second time they gave me an HSE Gaylander 2, which was worse!

In Elgin, they have a couple of bog standard cars, peugeot 307 or summat similar if I recall. Prob only RR Sport customers who get a Landy Courtesy car!!!

all depends on the stealer as most of them are now part of a 'sales group' my local one is part of lookers so you could end up in a renault!!!!!! but if me landy wasn't in for a warranty job or needed to go in to keep the warranty up it wouldn't go into a stealer

had like for like more times than not main reason they have not on mopre than 1 ocation was that i need to get it sorted before a defender was available
twice had a new gaylander and once a volvo car (petrol turbo)

My local "independant" mechanic used to lend me whatever hack he had - last time it was the scariest car I've ever driven, an ancient Lada. Unfortunately he got wiped out on hjs trike by some blind woman pulling out in front of him and hasn't worked since. Shame, he was ex military and knew series Landys inside out.

my local independent is the bollocks for courtesy cars. buys old cars, but cars that were fabulous in their day. Best so far was an L reg BMW 740 with 120k on the clock, but drove beautifully.

So the chances are, I may not have been better off if I took my Landy to a stealer.

My car is currently in for repair. I've been loaned a 58 plate Fiat Panda 1.2. It's the worst car I've ever driven. So boring, and the front wheels slip way too easily.

If only they had the 4x4 version. At least then it would be a laugh.

The main LR dealer (part of a large dealer group) nearest to me will give you a courtesy car but only if you pay for it!

Not really a courtesy car then is it?

They will give you a lift back into the centre of town for free however! NOT so handy when you have to go back to pick your landy up when they've they've finished!

The independent on the other hand will give you a courtesy car when you need one, so long as you book in advance. He has a couple of Freebies, a D90 and a Disco.
All with huge vehicle graphics up the side advertising his business! Can't really blame him tho!

Drive it like you stole it! I know someone that got a Porshe Cayman whilst there Z4 was in for repairs..... The Cayman needed some new tyres when it went back
