rusty starter motor terminals

hiya i,m currently in the process of dropping the tank out of my dse(foooked pump)but whilst i,m at it i,ve noticed the starter motor leads are corroded,which may not be helping my poor starting but before i go tinkering about does anyne knw if theres anything connected to it which if disconnected is goin to cause me grief,alarm,immobiliser etc has i don,t have the eka code and don,t want to disconnect the battery i just want to clean the starter motor leads.thanx

Disconnecting battery is advisable as these leads are live. Touching them to earth could blow your ECUs.
