M6 x 16 Stainless dome-head socket screws. Use rivnuts into the pillar, works well. I used the same on the clamp part with Nyloc nuts.

Just fitted my Southdown Snorkel............

Thank for your pics and info, as the distructions could have been better from Southdown, but they do look good, better then the plastic ones......

An MOD made easy...:D:D:D:D, in little over two hours

Good info on the snorkel thankyou very much, made my mind up now which to fit and the bracket info is great.

Do you have any pics of the piping? and where it goes?

Ta,

Jon

Sorry to return to an old post but saves starting a new one. My Discovery came with a Southdown already fitted but its drawing air in throught the join between the flexi pipe and metal snorkle. I have stripped it all down, the flexi pipe was pushed into the snorkle, is it better off to put the pipe over the outside of the snorkle and jubliee and then seal. only thing is it seems a tight fit between the plastic wing fixing and the metal tube, or is there another way to get a good air tight connection?

Just wanted to say thank you for this thread, helped me out with my newly fitted Southdown Snorkel :)

Cheers!

Jon.

Well since my disco never made it for the MOT, and turned into a RRC instead, I have just bought a southdown kit for it, pic to follow. Again instructions are quite vague but make sense. No template or gromit for where it passes through the body just a hint towards using sealant. I'll be making a rubber seal for where it passes through the body and doing away with the 300TDi airbox too as it won't fit in the RRC engine bay. Pics tomorrow but this is how far I got today.....

Just need to elongate the hole for the pipe and couple it up to the turbo inlet.

My flexi hose goes directly to the turbo and the airbox has been removed, the snorkel top has had a mesh bottom fitted and an HKS panel filter from the old Evo fitted in behind the snorkel top grill. Works perfectly well with no issues.
